US Court Dismisses Criminal Charges Against Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani; SEC Case Settled
The US District Court for the Eastern District of New York has dismissed with prejudice the criminal charges against Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani , Sagar Adani and former Adani Green Energy CEO Vneet Jaain . The development brings the criminal proceedings to an end, while a separate civil matter involving the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been resolved through a final judgment. US Court Dismisses Adani Criminal Case The US Department of Justice had sought dismissal of the indictment, which included allegations relating to securities fraud conspiracy , wire fraud conspiracy and securities fraud. The court granted the request under Rule 48(a). The case originated in November 2024, when US prosecutors alleged that Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani and others were involved in a conspiracy involving alleged bribes linked to Indian solar power contracts.
